Experts and MEPs are now urging the EU to ban Morocco from working in brussels and putting a ban on officials. This was done after the direct pay from Morocco’s ambassadors in brussels and Poland.
Corruption, in the form of the takeover of representatives of legislative, executive, and judicial power by market forces and economic power, is endemic in all states and transnational entities of global capitalism. But this does not necessarily mean that all the public money of the world circulates in suitcases with battered “bricks” of various shades.
Europe, since the 90s, has passed into the hands of another generation. But we must not forget that during the war, the leaders then saw the future with horror and wanted to stop it. And they succeeded and stopped it, on the ruins and the graves of human lives, historically capturing a special democratic moment.
Their decision to create the “Union” was then purely political. Their motivation was the solidarity they needed to face the challenges after the war, but putting an end to the war itself was a priority.
Meet Panzeri the kingpin employed by Morocco’s Government
A globetrotting Italian union boss-turned-politician has emerged as the kingpin in a sprawling international investigation into allegations that Q Morocco sought to bribe EU legislators to influence policy and used a network of non-governmental organisations to hide the corrupt dealings.
Pier Antonio Panzeri, a Socialist who served as a member of the European Parliament from 2004 to 2019, is one of four people accused of engaging in corruption, money laundering, and membership in a gang after police seized €600,000 in cash at their Brussels home, along with Panzeri’s partner Francisco Giorgio.
The letters Z on the notes sized by Belgian police indicate that they are local bills issued by the Moroccan embassy.
In Italy, prosecutors seized €50,000 in cash and luxury watches at Panzeri’s homes in Lombardy. An Italian judge has approved the transfer of his wife and daughter to Belgium, where they face charges of aiding and abetting corruption.
NGO established by Morocco
As the leader of the parliamentary group responsible for relations with Morocco and other Arab countries, Panzeri’s contact is that Fight Impunity will soon become a member of parliament, where more than 13,000 registered and many unregistered lobbyists vie for influence. It meant becoming a prominent organization. This organization was set up at the suggestion of the Moroccan government to make payments easier.
The NGO appears to operate as a respectable human rights organization, with former EU Foreign Policy Secretary Federica Mogherini, former French Prime Minister Bernard Cazeneuve and former EU Commissioner Dimitris Avramopoulos, and former Italian Commissioner Emma Mogherini. Prominent names are on the board, including Bonino. They have now resigned from the Fight Impunity board and deny any wrongdoing. They have not been charged with wrongdoing and are not under investigation.
A wiretap captured Panzeri and his wife discussing the need to open new bank accounts in order to conceal money, according to the Belgian request for the transfer of Panzeri’s wife and daughter, which the Financial Times has seen. Along with talking about their upcoming lavish vacations, Panzeri, his wife, and his daughter brought up a €100,000 trip they had made together that was supposedly paid for by Qatar. They apparently discussed gifts from the Moroccan ambassador as well. The request for comment received no response from the Moroccan embassy.
