The initial WhatsApp contact that started the cryptocurrency fraud
It all started when ZG received a WhatsApp message from a female in early August of this year. It appears that the message was sent by error because it mentioned a potential date with a person ZG was unaware of.
Although ZG replied that the girl had the wrong number, she then apologised by responding that the number was nearly identical to her boss’s, and they then engaged in a lengthy exchange of messages about their interests and hobbies.
The contact was accidental and not accidental. A few days later, the girl said that she was also involved in cryptocurrency investing thanks to her aunt, and at that time she told ZG that she was on her Koneoyp website (then she was still called Koneoy). ) was suggested.
Cloud mining
This site offered “cloud mining”. H. For a limited time, he will offer different packages at different prices so that you can buy the computing power of the machines he believes are mining BTC and ETH.
ZG was already skeptical due to the extremely high win rate promised each day, but decided to move on. At this point, the girl told her to go directly to Koneoyp’s representative, Lisa. Lisa explains to ZG the reason for such a high percentage, explaining that it is Binance’s secondary platform with many big investors.
At this point, it’s clear that these are just lies, but ZG decided to move on anyway. They were able to entice him with the offer to use his Ethereum engine which guarantees his 24-hour withdrawals for free for 7 days.
The problem is that ZG went crazy because he was able to withdraw 70 USD without spending anything in those 7 days.
He decided to buy some of his cloud mining packages from his Koneoyp, but he soon found that the earnings weren’t entirely satisfying. But he blamed it on the market decline.
The ICOs
At this point, the real deception began. ZG was offered to participate in one of his ICOs with a minimum participation fee of 1,000 USDT.
They claimed that this was a pre-sale of a new coin to be launched on Koneoyp’s domestic market. These presales work by assigning a randomly changing “win percentage” at the end of the presale.
The ICO that ZG participated in was his ICO on DOFT, where he invested just over 1,000 USDT.
Ten days after the presale ended, ZG was randomly assigned his 6% win rate. So from his USDT deposit, he deducted 6% or about 62 USDT, instead, he received 312 DOFT at the pre-sale price of 0.2 USDT per token. The rest of the USDT deposit was credited to his account.
After a 30-day lockup period, ZG was able to redeem around 900 USDT to sell his 312 DOFT tokens. That’s how he turned about 1,000 USDT into about 2,000 USDT.
ZG found this result very interesting and subsequently decided to participate in almost all of Koneoyp’s other ICOs.
Within a month, he had collected over 20,000 USDT of his from a few friends and deposited it on Koneoyp’s platform, which had already started extending the lockup period. Days before the token could be sold, Lisa notified her ZG that the sale date would be postponed to increase the value of the token itself.
Real crypto scam
Koneoyp later announced that all sales and withdrawals would be blocked until January 1st as it will officially roll out on Binance and 46 other platforms from January 1st. This is a blatant lie as Binance has never confirmed this.
Those who participated in these ICOs will also be asked to deposit 1% of the funds already in their account into USDT by December 25th and pay a fee to transfer the tokens to Binance. . Again, this is probably just a lie used to get more money out of the unlucky victims of this scam.
His website at Koneoyp.com is currently unavailable. It is worth noting that many articles were published in his September warning about this scam.
The problem is that scammers are well aware of their victims’ greed and can exploit them. So, in this case, they even go looking for victims by contacting them directly via WhatsApp. They also know how to make you deposit big money by winning easy and important wins in a very short amount of time.
However, after getting them to give everything they have, they take off with the loot. Unfortunately, it is frequently nearly impossible to get back the money lost in these situations.
